Sharon Joann Kenney Baker, 56, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020. We are devastated at the loss of our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt and friend.
She was born on April 17, 1963, in Louisville, KY to Lindle (Buck) and Alice Kenney. She grew up in a large loving family with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. While she was known to many of her friends and at school as Sharon to her family she was always Joann. She attended Ahrens High School and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1981. Shortly after graduation Sharon enrolled in the US Army and received an honorable discharge. She worked at a pediatric cardiologist office and at King Fish Restaurant before being diagnosed with MS. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Louisville Cardinals fan. She loved anything and everything Wizard of Oz.
Sharon was met in heaven by her son, John Joseph (Tripp) Baker, III and her parents, Buck and Alice Kenney.
She is survived by her daughter, Allison Kenney; her grandchildren Addison, Izabella, Hobby and Gabrielle; her twin brother, Joe (Michele) Kenney; her brothers Mike (Leslie) Kenney and Allen (Candy) Kenney; her sisters, Angela Kenney Myers, Patty (Mark) Colvin and Shannon Kenney Piercy; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins and many friends, including Patty Redfern who was like a sister to her as well as the entire the Cockerell and Redfern families who were very special to Sharon.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions the family is unable to have any funeral services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled sometime in the future.
